MONTEREY MEDIA ACQUIRES THE AWARD-WINNING THRILLER "THE LIVING"
Los Angeles, CA (December 10, 2014) - monterey media is proud to announce the acquisition of all U.S. and Canada rights to the award-winning thriller "The Living" starring: Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods, Donnie Darko), Jocelin Donahue (Insidious: Chapter 2, and the upcoming Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups), Independent Spirit Award nominee Chris Mulkey (Captain Phillips, The Purge, Whiplash), Joelle Carter ("Justified", Jessabelle, American Pie 2) and Kenny Wormald (Footloose, Clerks II). The deal was negotiated between Producers Jack Bryan, Laura DuBois and John Snyder and monterey media's Scott Mansfield. Winner of the Best Dramatic Feature at the Manhattan Film Festival and Winner of the Best Picture Stubbornly Independent Award at the Tallgrass Film Festival an early 2015 theatrical release is planned.

Awakening from an alcohol induced black out, Teddy discovers he has severely beaten his wife, Molly. As he seeks her forgiveness, she struggles with a possible future together. Absent a father's protection, her brother's humiliation over not being able to defend his sister quickly turns to hate. In desperation, Gordon seeks out and hires an ex-con to kill Teddy setting forth an unstoppable sequence of shocking events.
