monterey media unveils The Secrets

February 21, 2008 Thousand Oaks, CA - monterey media is thrilled to announce the acquisition of The Secrets, a NottingHill Films production. The Secrets is a magically beautiful and poignant film that beckons audiences to share a delightful yet intimate glimpse at what Woman’s World Magazine calls: “A magical peek into a strange world. Brilliant cast, led by the stunning Ania Bukstein. Highly recommended”.

The film was brought to the attention of monterey media President Scott Mansfield by Ronna Wallace who represented the film for Producers David Silber and Sharon Harel.

“Following its outstanding reception as an Official Selection of the Toronto Film Festival, we are delighted to bring The Secrets, which was a record making box office success in Israel, to audiences across the US and Canada”, says Mansfield.

In The Secrets, director Avi Nesher (“Israel’s premiere filmmaker”-Jerusalem Post) skillfully presents the quandaries facing Naomi, (Ania Bukstein) the studious, devoutly religious daughter of a prominent rabbi, who convinces her father to postpone her marriage for a year so that she might study at a Jewish seminary for women in the ancient Kabalistic seat of Safed. Naomi's quest for individuality takes a defiant turn when she befriends Michelle, a free-spirited and equally headstrong fellow student.

monterey media will be distributing all rights in the United States and Canada. The film was produced in Hebrew and French with English subtitles. The film is scheduled for theatrical release this summer.
