FOUR OSCAR NOMINEES/THREE NEW FILMS TO MONTEREY MEDIA

Los Angeles, CA (October 16, 2013) - monterey media is proud to announce the acquisition of all US and Canada rights to three new films starring Oscar nominees David Strathairn, Harvey Keitel, Shirley Knight and Gerard Depardieu.

"What a pleasure it always is to be releasing independent films with these award-winning casts, remarkable story lines and innovative production", says monterey media's President Scott Mansfield.

David Strathairn stars in No God, No Master. The Academy Award Nominee & two time Golden Globe Nominee & Independent Spirit Award Winner (Good Night, and Good Luck, Lincoln, The Borne Ultimatum, City of Hope) stars in this crime suspense/thriller negotiated between monterey's Scott Mansfield and Terry Green of Strata Productions, Inc. After receiving accolades at film festivals nationwide No God, No Master will launch theatrically in early Spring 2014.

About "No God, No Master"
When a series of package bombs show up on the doorsteps of prominent politicians and businessmen in the summer of 1919, U.S. Bureau of Investigation Agent William Flynn (David Strathairn) becomes immersed in an investigation that uncovers an anarchist plot to destroy democracy, setting the stage for a timely drama with resoundingly similar parallels to the contemporary war on terrorism and the roles government plays to defeat it.

"We are so honored that our festival played a part in 'No God, No Master' being acquired by Monterey. It is an extraordinary film, compelling story, brilliantly written and acted. It was one of the top films at our festival! And Monterey will truly put this film on the map. It is the perfect fit!", says Patrick Schweiss, Executive Director, Sedona International Film Festival.

Two time Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe Winner (+3 time nominee), two time EMMY Winner (+7 time nominee), Shirley Knight stars with Tom Skerritt in the endearing family themed Redwood Highway. Theatrical release is scheduled for April 2014 with a special presentational outreach to often overlooked senior communities. The deal was concluded between monterey's Scott Mansfield and Producer James Twyman.

About "Redwood Highway"

What would happen if a seventy-five year old woman decided to walk the Redwood Highway, a distance of nearly 100 miles, to attend her granddaughter's wedding? This is where our story begins, and the adventures Marie (Shirley Knight) encounters force her to confront her past in a way she's been afraid to do until now. This is her time, and though it's the most frightening thing she's ever done, Marie cannot back down. Along the way she meets Pete (Tom Skerritt), a kind woodworker who helps her open her heart and face her past.

"I am thrilled to be working with Monterey Media again. Their creative approach to film distribution is a perfect fit for 'Redwood Highway'. We worked together on the release of my first feature film, 'Indigo,' where we showed how successful an 'out of the box' approach can be in the ever evolving world of cinema. I expect our new film to be the next step in this evolution", says James Twyman.

Gérard Depardieu and Harvey Keitel star in the dark comedy A Farewell to Fools. Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe Winner, and EMMY nominee (also two-time Winner and 16 time nominee of the Cesar Award) Depardieu along with Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe nominee, Independent Spirit Award Winner Keitel star in this simply charming WWII story. A Spring 2014 theatrical is planned on this deal put together by monterey's president Scott Mansfield and Shoreline Entertainment's Brian Sweet.

About "A Farewell to Fools"

World War II, somewhere in Romania. A German soldier is found dead near a village, and the local authorities must finger the culprit or they will all be shot by Nazis the following morning. There's no way to identify the guilty party, but there is Ipu, (Gérard Depardieu), the madman of the village, who the town leaders, led by Harvey Keitel, pressure to claim responsibility for the soldier's death and die to save the village. Seen through the eyes of a young boy, we witness the comedy and intractability of human nature as the villagers manipulate Ipu - only to find they have manipulated themselves.

According to Morris Ruskin, CEO of Shoreline and Executive Producer on the movie: "It is such a pleasure to watch these two magnificent actors-Keitel and Depardieu-slyly outfox each other. Beneath the surface charm of their performances and the movie as a whole, there is a wry, dark examination of desperate human nature that audiences who yearn for intelligent independent films will greatly appreciate."
