September 14, 2009 Thousand Oaks, CA- monterey media is thrilled to announce that Trucker has been honored by the TriMedia Film Festival jury as the Winner of the Best Feature Film Award. The festival screened the film before a packed house as part of their Opening Night Double Feature event on Friday, September 11th. The film, which was an official selection at Tribeca Film Festival, received rave reviews for both the directorial debut of James Mottern and a tour de force performance by Ms. Monaghan.
"Tough and believable, Monaghan's moments are real and relaxed and take Mottern's movie to another level. This is a solid independent feature. The camera work is perfect. Writer/Director James Mottern should be particularly proud."

Diane Ford (Michelle Monaghan, Made of Honor, Eagle Eye), a vivacious and successful independent truck driver, leads a carefree life of long-haul trucking, one night stands and all-night drinking with Runner (Nathan Fillion, Serenity, "Castle" ) until the evening her estranged 11-year-old son, Peter (Jimmy Bennett, star of Robert Rodriguez's Shorts) is unexpectedly dropped at her door.
Burdened with this new responsibility and seeing the life of freedom she's fought for now jeopardized, Diane steps reluctantly into her past- at least for now, while his father Len (Benjamin Bratt, "The Cleaner" ) is in the hospital, and looks sidelong at an uncharted future that is not as simple or straightforward as she had once believed. Trucker's New York City theatrical premiere opens October 9th leading into the Los Angeles theatrical premiere October 16th.
