Take a very private look at the great American author Henry James (Turn of the Screw, Daisy Miller, The Bostonians) in this, a very personal story. For most of his adult life James lived abroad& not unlike the character Spencer Brydon, who after being an expatriate for 35 years, returns to America and is "overwhelmed by the newness and bigness" that assaults his memory. Brydon wonders what he might have been had he never left his country& and becomes obsessed by the mystery. He senses that unlocking the door to his ancestral home, "The Jolly Corner" will unlock the mystery. Somewhere inside, he'll find a vision of the man he might have been. And, when he does, you'll want to be there.
