monterey media is Creating Waves with “Peel: the Peru Project”
THOUSAND OAKS, CA- Riding the waves off the sparkling shores of Peru is a surfer’s dream. Some of the longest left breaking waves in the world combined with the cultural charm, captivated T.J. Barrack and Wes Brown. monterey media is proud to present their newest film from Little House Productions, “Peel: the Peru Project”. Set right in the center of this dream, “Peel” takes us to the best surfing spots in Peru; with cinematography that is reminiscent of Wes’ grandfather Bruce Brown’s work in “The Endless Summer”. Capturing the sport so intensely, one can actually feel the breeze that dances across the ocean and the warm water splashing on your skin. When the credits roll, you can nearly say you have experienced surfing in these exotic waters.
Mark Healey (from Islands in the Stream), Jamie Sterling (Billabong XXL Big Wave Award winner), Women’s World Champion Sofia Mulanovich, Jesse Colombo (One of the new breed of “Air” surfers) and Randy Bonds (from The Kill Seven and Punk and Disorderly) are the featured surfers along with “the Teacher” of Peruvian surf: Magoo de la Rosa, the seven time national champion of Peru. The soundtrack of “Peel” includes music by the immensely popular Danish band SURFACT.
The film kicked off its tri-coastal theatrical exhibitions with a sold out and “surf-celebrity” studded event for the Malibu Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation on June 10th (see www.peelperuproject.com for theatrical summer dates). Throughout the summer, monterey is partnering with chapters of the Surfrider Foundation along with strategic marketing alliances with Surfing Magazine and Surfline.com to utilize the film in heightening environmental awareness. With exciting bonus features, “Peel” will be released on DVD at the end of September.
More than just the surf is up at monterey media!
